We were absolutely honored when Steven and Francine Conway, Chicago's distinguished event planners {
LI Favorite } invited us to photograph their destination wedding in Wisconsin.
On a bright holiday weekend, I arrived in Francine's lovely hotel room at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake to find her exquisite Marisa designer gown, Alfani shoes and unique wedding jewelry by the King of Bling, Joel Singer, in their beautiful boutique wrapping. Spending this quiet time capturing these intimate details at a wedding truly syncs me into the mood and feel for the rest of the day.
Francine's 'something blue' was traditional Greek beads wrapped delicately around her right ankle. Francine's beauty astounds me! You can truly see her gorgeous Greek heritage in her stunning and bright smile.
Francine's charming father helped me style her dress for the detail shots and then showed me the most cherishing photograph of him holding Francine when she was a baby. He said that Francine gave him the photo as a gift. I thought about how much I already adored Francine, and this made me feel that much more smitten with her beautiful spirit!

Steven and Francine's gorgeous, classic, destination wedding reception was held on Elkhart Lake at the The Osthoff Resort in Wisconsin.
I knew that the beautiful bride Francine Karamalegos was an amazing event planner with exceptional attention to detail, but my breath was taken away when I received the in-person experience of her visual coordination and attention to every last detail throughout the weekend. I seriously can not wait to work with her again and capture some more eye candy!

You know when you are at a huge rock concert and the energy in the air right before the headlining band comes on is so palatable you can feel it? That's the same feeling I have when at a Midwest or East Coast wedding and they are about to announce the bride and groom at the wedding reception. My heart skips a beat, my tummy has butterflies and then... there they are! It's the most jubilous and exciting moment of the day for me.
Steven and Francine totally ROCKED IT for their grand entrance and continued into their first Greek dance of the night, followed by the honor of her father doing a traditional Greek money dance of course!

One of my favorite things about destination weddings has to be the “Day After Photo Session”.
For Steven and Francine's photography session the day after their wedding, we strolled along the Midwest vacationing town and waterfront of Elkhart Lake. Walking along the quiet boardwalks and train tracks reminded us all of being transformed in time and transported to the set of Dirty Dancing back in 1987. It's really that sweet and quaint!
I fell completely in love with this old train car and old-growth tree in the hot sun. It was the perfect destination location for this town. [Photo Tip: even though the first B&W image has a feeling of infrared, no filters on the lens, in camera or post processing was used. This shot is almost directly SOOC (straight out of camera) with the saturation taken down, a minimal bump in contrast and less a bit of clarity. Settings: 18mm (18-70mm Nikor lens), ISO 200, f/5.0, 1/320.]
Francine and Steven have such fun and playful spirits and I adore how Francine twirled in her couture Marisa gown designed by Tamara Kristen.
Love walking on train tracks and the lovely historical depot buildings around the town.
Just when the sun was too bright overhead to photograph, we ducked under the shade of Elkhart Lake's historical train depot and it saved the moment. This is when Steven and Francine started making each other giggle and their laughter here continued throughout this amazing day!

Have I ever mentioned how much I like bouquets that consist of one type of flower? This all-white-rose bouquet designed by McGinley & Baker paired so well with Francine's shoes on the dock and this set made me so happy!
